Job description

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
  • Oversee kitchen operations
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • May clean kitchen and work area
  • May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
  • May train kitchen staff.
  • Have experience in Chinese cooking equipment, for example: wok. 
  • Knife skills for prep vegetables, poultry and meats. 
  • Handling of deep fryers and gridles. 

Job Requirements:

  • Able to work in fast pace environment 
  • Great attitude 
  • Follow instructions perfectly 
  • Able to lift 50 pounds repetitively 
  • Able to reach back of oven 
  • Physically fit 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Work independent as well as with a team 
  • Be able to prioritize tasks as required
  •  Minimum 3 years of commercial cooking experience or Completion of college or other program in cooking
  • Experience in Asian restaurants is an asset
