Job description

    Education: Some secondary school is an asset  

    Work Experience: 3-5 years experience is required  

 Job Duties:

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods as per menu orders 
  • Prepare and cook special meals for people with allergies 
  • Oversee kitchen operations when opening or closing 
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment with first in first out inventory system 
  • Will clean kitchen and work area to sanitary standards
  • May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies as required 
  • Will transfer skills to kitchen helpers and other people working 
  • Preparing and cooking ethnic cuisine or special dishes such as Asian cuisine 

Job Requirements:


  • Attention to detail 
  • Able to work evenings, weekends and split shifts as well as Holidays 
  • Be able to work as a team and individually 
  • Reliable 
  • Able to stand for long periods of time 
  • Able to lift 30 lbs repeatedly 
  • Ability to do math and record keeping
